Job Summary

Assists Production, Engineering, and Quality departments in developing, installing, and operating a system to provide on-site customer service in the areas of Engineering and Quality Control.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Resides in a customer plant to provide Engineering and Quality Control services and to resolve quality issues with regard to NAL products
  2. Conducts customer service calls to sort or repair products
  3. Coordinates the resolution of quality issues with other NAL departments, customers, and suppliers
  4. Performs technical and statistical investigations and analysis on production, quality, process, and equipment issues using standard NAL problem solving method
  5. Prepares problem-solving reports indicating root-cause and recommending countermeasures
  6. Creates and audits procedures, records, etc., for inspection and testing
  7. Evaluates process capability using statistical tools, such as sampling tables, DOE (Design of Experiment), and control charts
  8. Analyzes processes to reduce defects (process review)
  9. Develops fail-safes and improvements to manufacturing conditions, processes, equipment, jigs, and production line flow
  10. Performs other duties as assigned

Responsibilites

Requirements

  1. Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related discipline
  2. 2 to 4 years of related manufacturing experience (experience in the quality function within automotive supplier manufacturing with some exposure to Customer Service is preferred)
  3. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
  • Technical knowledge in statistics, inspection, testing, and/or dimensional layout in a manufacturing environment
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Computer skills in standard business software (including MS Office programs)
  • Written and verbal communications and presentation skills
  • Interpersonal skills — ability to confident interaction with individuals at all levels of authority and to maintain professional demeanor in stressful and/or confrontational situations
