Job Summary

Supervises and analyzes all benefit plans plus provides analytical support to compensation plans. This position has two direct reports. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1.    Analyzes and administers the Company's employee benefit plans, including Annual Enrollment, plan design modifications, communication of plan information, implementation of plan changes, internal recordkeeping and reporting and legal compliance, filings, and disclosures.
2.    Analyses and prepares reports regarding benefit plan design, which includes regular reporting of plan metrics, determining the cost-effectiveness of existing programs, evaluating alternatives, and assessing the desirability of new programs and/or modifications to existing programs.
3.    Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, management and Team Member surveys, exit interviews, employment records, government labor statistics, competitor data, and other sources.
4.    Prepares and communicates information regarding employee benefit programs, which includes total rewards statements, annual enrollment materials, plan changes, and new hire benefits orientation.
5.    Gathers data, performs data analyses, submits various government filings, and distributes required notices with regard to third party, IRS, and DOL audits of benefit plans.
6.    Participates in the education of participants in the employee benefit plans, which includes preparing training and communication materials, and conducting group and one-on-one meetings to increase employee understanding in all of the programs.
7.    Support company’s performance management program.
8.    Assists with analysis of company compensation program, gathering data and preparing programs for annual salary merit and hourly wage planning.
9.    Participates in local and regional benefit surveys and analyzes the survey results to determine the competitiveness of the NAL's benefits package.
10.    Acts as liaison with external consultants, attorneys, auditors, vendors/administrators, insurance carriers, and the local HR departments with respect to the NAL's benefit plans.
11.    Performs audits of the administration of the benefit plans to ensure the following:
a.    The quality and accuracy of the data entered into the HRIS
b.    Adherence to program standards and approved processes and procedures
c.    Compliance with all legal requirements
12.    Documents results of internal benefit plan audits and recommends countermeasures to reduce or eliminate the recurrence of similar problem issues in the future.
13.    Participate in the development or revision of compensation and benefit processes and procedures.
14.    Prepares schedules and status reports, as needed, to track and communicate the status of specific projects, programs, or on-going work.
15.    Addresses employee benefit questions and issues as necessary.
16.    Monitors benefit plan trends, processes, and practices in the business environment.
17.    Monitors federal and state regulations concerning benefit plans to ensure compliance with all applicable legal requirements.
18.    Performs other duties as assigned.
Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000

Requirements

1.    Meets the following Education and Experience requirements:
a.    Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline.
b.    5 + years of Human Resources experience in a company with multiple locations including 3+ years in Benefits.
2.    Strong Analytical skills with knowledge and abilities in the following areas:

h.    Interpersonal skills — to professionally and confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority and maintain composure in pressure situations
