Job Summary

Plans, directs and manages the Training and Development of Manufacturing Team Members in the manufacturing facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Identifies, designs, conducts and/or arranges for training and development for new and existing manufacturing Team Members.
2. Collaborate with company subject matter experts (SMEs) within the organization to develop training.
3. Creates and implements training programs to provide employees with a blended approach to learning, such as coaching/mentoring, classroom training, 1-2-1 sessions, action learning, and e-learning.
4. Works with employees and their managers to create employee development plans, and sets performance metrics, and evaluates progress and productivity.
5. Develop and maintain training plans or matrices specific to all manufacturing positions so Team Members are properly trained for their position.
6. Trains and coaches Managers, General Foreman, Supervisors and Team Leaders on training content and programs so they can support training strategies.
7. Develop internal communication channels to share information regarding training programs, expectations and updates.
8. Conducts online surveys with participants, analyzes manufacturing reports and observes training in person to evaluate and measure training effectiveness.
9. Develop management reports to measure completion and effectiveness of manufacturing training.
10. Support and maintain a database of all company training programs in the specified LMS.
11. Prepares, implements, and manages the overall training budget for the company
12. Budget, organize and facilitate the necessary supplies to support Team Member training.
13. Directs and assigns work to the training and development department staff
14. Manages and oversees the mentoring and development of the training department team
15. Develops and communicates departmental goals and objectives to the staff
16. Handles personnel issues, such as staff conflicts, absenteeism, and performance
17. Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, or related discipline
2. 8 to 10 years of experience in training and employee development; including 3 years of
experience in a supervisory position
3. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a. Ability to design, present and implement training programs.
b. Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills.
c. Organizational and planning skills.
d. Ability to function effectively balancing multiple strategic projects
e. Project management skills working with cross-functional teams
f. Highly collaborative and ability to influence and manage both within and across teams
g. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Plex, Adobe, plus training multimedia and LMS
programs.
h. Leadership and coaching skills.
i. Written and verbal communication plus excellent presentation skills.
j. Interpersonal skills to professionally and confidently interact with individuals at
all levels of authority.
