Job Summary

Leads and administers safety programs and activities using a variety of safety concepts, practices, and procedures, to provide for the overall safety of employees in his/her assigned manufacturing facility.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Ensures the facility meets all requirements of corporate, local, state and federal safety regulations.
  2. Administers facility safety events, evaluations, and other related activities in order to drive a reduction in work-related injuries.
  3. Performs facility safety inspections to identify actual and/or potential hazardous work conditions.
  4. Analyzes safety issues, works with department leaders on corrective actions, and following up on the implementation and effectiveness of the corrective actions.
  5. Conducts safety training (technical, management, and process) for all levels of facility employees based on specific needs and requirements. Training may include safety strategies and goals, technical safety and program information, injury trend data, safety/regulatory information.
  6. Reviews all accident/incident reports at the facility, and evaluates the root cause and countermeasures to determine for all accidents/incidents and illnesses reported in the facility.
  7. Evaluates new and existing facility equipment and workstations with regard to safety and ergonomic issues and improvements.
  8. Assists in the development of countermeasures to ergonomic issues, and follows up to ensure that they are implemented on a timely basis and effective in addressing the issue.
  9. Maintains safety records and other related documentation for his/her assigned manufacturing facility.
  10. Assists in the development, evaluation, and enhancement of safety policies and procedures.
  11. Support operations groups to integrate safety into the day-to-day work activities and maintain a positive safety culture in the facility.



  1. Bachelor Degree in Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or a related discipline.  (or HS Diploma or GED, and at least 8 years of comprehensive safety management experience)
  2. 1 to 3 years of experience in the safety function at a manufacturing environment
