Job Summary

Directs, develops, implements, and maintains an effective regional procurement strategy, and the associated processes and procedures, that support North American Lighting’s company's supply chain and procurement functions.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Leads, plans, and directs the work for the assigned Buyer group.
2. Acts as a focal point for efforts to reduce the total cost of ownership for production materials, services, and supplies in support of North American Lighting and our related customer initiatives
3. Develops department processes and procedures, and conducts training for department personnel
4. Formulates purchasing strategies for various commodities
5. Reviews and approves RFQ’s to suppliers for new and existing materials and services
6. Conducts preliminary reviews of pending purchases, purchasing contracts, and related contractual documents to verify adherence to current North American Lighting’s processes and procedures
7. Reviews and approves Purchase Orders to suppliers for new and existing materials and services
8. Gathers, analyzes, and tracks key market information and trends
9. Develops and manages ongoing relationships with suppliers
10. Evaluates and monitors vendor performance, and recommends or takes corrective actions, as required
11. Identifies new potential domestic and global suppliers
12. Assesses materials and products, and arranges to move products
13. Provides assistance and customer service to external vendors or contractors
14. Leads problem-solving activities with suppliers, and establishes continuous improvement targets
15. Performs all other duties as assigned


1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering or a related discipline
2. 5 to 10 years of experience in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related function
3. Experience to include:
a. Procurement experience specifically related to key commodities
b. Global business travel experience
c. Electronics, injection molding, and/or plastic resin portfolio management experience is preferred
d. Experience leading complex and dynamic teams in a procurement or supply chain organization is preferred
e. Automotive manufacturer and/or supplier experience is preferred
4. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a. Knowledge and understanding of TS-16949 and related quality system requirements
b. Knowledge and understanding of global market trends
c. Ability to set and meet targets, goals, and deadlines

d. Team leadership and mentoring skills
e. Organizational, planning, and delegation skills
f. Analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills
g. Computer skills — ability to proficiently use standard business software (including MS Office)
h. Written and verbal communications and presentation skills
i. Interpersonal skills — ability to confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority and
maintain composure in sensitive, pressure, and confrontational situations
