Job Summary

Performs analysis of all costs related to purchasing, including variance analysis between budget and actual costs, and prepares accurate and timely financial reports and forecasts to NAL management and Shareholders.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Obtains purchasing cost data, and performs data analysis, and interprets results
  2. Collects data to prepare reports detailing purchase and cost variances between budgeted and actual amounts of raw material, component, department capital, tooling, and MRO items
  3. Produces quarterly budget forecasts related to cost of all purchased materials and capital items
  4. Performs cost analysis of vendor invoices
  5. Analyzes and reviews cost effective purchases
  6. Tracks and reports expenditures against departmental budgets and makes recommendations in an effort to reduce cost
  7. Maintains records of all supplier performance reports
  8. Develops and monitors buyers’ performance related to new program sourcing milestones
  9. Provides support on other projects, such as PO tracking, quality, and cost reporting against specific project/PO milestones
  10. Performs all other duties as assigned

Responsibilites

Requirements

  1. Meets one of the following Education and Experience requirements:
  2. Bachelors Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline, plus 2 to 4 years of financial analysis or related experience; OR
  3. Associates Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related discipline, plus 4 to 6 years of financial analysis or related experience
  4. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
  • Computer skills – proficiency using standard business software with an emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills
  • Organizational, planning, multi-tasking, and follow-up skills
  • Mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Written and verbal communications skills
  • Interpersonal skills — ability to confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority
