Job Summary

Responsible for the development and implementation of supplier cost improvement ideals and initiatives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Evaluates electronics design prints, BOMs, and engineering specifications for accuracy and cost reduction options.
2. Leads electronics design review meetings with suppliers to incorporate supplier design feedback into final designs.
3. Supports Purchasing Buyers with evaluation of quote accuracy to design documents.
4. Understands market trends and maintain database for electronics component pricing.
5. Supports Electronics Design cost studies for lowest cost options.
6. Analyze designs for alternative component options.
7. Develops benchmark standards for electronic components.
8. Performs supplier assessments related to quality systems, processes, manufacturing capacity and cost savings.
9. Builds relationship with component supplier, understands component markets and where supplier is positioned, point person for supplier component cost discussions, understands product and supplier cost structure, manufacturing process, and global locations.
10. Conducts audits to outline opportunities for suppliers in areas of improvements
11. Lead supply chain VAVE projects with the coordination of suppliers, manufacturing plants and engineering
12. Trains suppliers in the development of quality systems and NAL supplier expectations.
13. Maintains relationships to resolve supplier data integrity issues
14. Works as a liaison between suppliers and NAL to streamline relationships
15. Performs other duties as assigned

Responsibilites
Requirements

1. Meets one of the following Education and Experience requirements:
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or related discipline, and 5+ years of experience with PCB Electronics Manufacturing or Design, including 3+ years experience in Engineering, Quality, Supplier Quality or related field
2. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a. Computer skills – proficiency using standard business software with an emphasis on Excel,
PowerPoint, and Access
b. Critical Thinking and Problem Solving skills
c. Mathematical and analytical skills with attention to detail
d. Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
e. Organizational, planning, multi-tasking, and follow-up
f. Written and verbal communications skills
g. Interpersonal skills —ability to confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority
