Job Summary

Supports Manufacturing through maintenance and technical improvements of assembly and service department equipment and processes. May also support the Manufacturing Engineering group pre-production part build activities and equipment trials as assigned.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Participates in activities required to build prototype and pre-production sample parts
2. Assists with confirmation trials of assembly equipment
3. Provides technical support for equipment installation, set-up, and troubleshooting
4. Controls the equipment needed for use in the prototype area.
5. Organizes and maintains an inventory of components and equipment needed for prototype builds.
6. Prepares, summarizes, and reports trial data for manufacturing and engineering groups.
7. Supervises and coordinates the work of hourly and temporary personnel in the prototype area.
8. Oversees facility usage of the prototype/equipment warehouse
9. Controls incoming/outgoing items and equipment storage in prototype warehouse
10. Performs other duties as assigned

Responsibilites
Requirements

1. High School diploma or GED (Associate's Degree in Engineering or Industrial Technology is preferred)
2. 5 years of technical work experience in assembly process in a manufacturing facility
3. Experience in the following areas is preferred:
a. Machine set-up
b. PLC and robotic programming
c. Hot plate, vibration, and sonic welding
d. Forward and signal lighting assembly practices
4. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a. Analytical and problem solving skills
b. Organizational and planning skills
c. Technical and mechanical skills
d. Computer skills in standard business software (including MS Office programs)
e. Written and verbal communications skills
f. Interpersonal skills — to confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority
