Job Summary

Knows and applies a variety of technical concepts, practices, and procedures to perform tasks that are widely varied and complex in nature. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals that require a wide degree of evaluation, originality, latitude, and independent judgment. Develops, implements, and supports all activities, procedures, and programs for ensuring the security and integrity of company data, information systems, and technology.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Oversees and coordinates all aspects of the company’s disaster recovery (DR) operations
2. Serves as DR point-of-contact for the organization
3. Develops and coordinates testing of recovery plans and procedures
4. Leads and oversees all of the company’s disaster recovery and business continuity projects, including the development of IT emergency response procedures
5. Ensures that recovery procedures are effective for the restoration of key corporate resources and for the resumption of critical business processes
6. Performs risk assessments and related analyses, including the establishment of recovery time objectives and recovery point objectives (RTO/RPO)
7. Analyzes and identifies points of vulnerability and recommends disaster avoidance and reduction strategies
8. Provides guidance to business units in the development of recovery procedures for key areas of the organization
9. Maintains the library of recovery support and business resumption procedures
10. Stays abreast of industry best practices and technological advances
11. Administers and supports the company’s data backup system
12. Administers and supports the company’s data replication system
13. Maintains and orders the company’s inventory of backup media
14. Maintains the inventory of APC battery backups and generators
15. Participates in and supports departmental projects, security initiatives, and on-call rotation for technical support
16. Prioritizes service desk incidents, independently identifies, and applies solutions
17. Logs and documents problems and their resolutions to insure proper countermeasures
18. Performs all other duties as assigned

Responsibilites

Requirements

1. Meets one of the following education and experience requirements:
a. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, plus 2 to 4 years of experience in Data Center Operations, Migration, Move and/or Consolidation with exposure to recovery strategy planning and implementation; OR
b. Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline, plus 4 to 6 years of experience in Data Center Operations, Migration, Move and/or Consolidation with exposure to recovery strategy planning and implementation; OR

2. One or more related industry certifications preferred:
a. DRCS
b. CISSP
c. PMP
d. ITIL Foundation
3. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a. Knowledge and understanding of:
(i) Servers, networks, and storage
(ii) Virtualization technologies, VMWare preferred
(iii) Replication technologies, Zerto or SRM preferred
(iv) Backup technologies, Commvault preferred
(v) The principles of information security
(vi) Contractual commitments and deliverables
b. Analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
c. Organizational, planning, and project management skills
d. Computer skills — proficiency using stand business software, MS Office, and MS Project
e. Written and verbal communications and presentation skills
f. Interpersonal skills:
(i) to work in a team environment
(ii) to confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority
(iii) to maintain composure in pressure situations
