Job Summary

Plans, supervises, and executes production schedules in order to maximize customer satisfaction, achieve “on-time” shipments, and meet department goals and objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Supervises, directs, and monitors the PC Planners to ensure that they maintain master schedules and order releases for assigned product lines in order to support customer requirements (including the
response to changes in customer requirements)
2. Supervises and participates in cycle counts and reconciliations to ensure inventory accuracy, monitors accuracy of inventory records, and initiates required corrective actions
3. Ensures consistent application of good fundamental production control concepts and practices to support the facility’s total manufacturing process
4. Monitors status of purchase parts and communicates any changes to purchasing department
5. Reviews, implements, and monitors ECRs in order to minimize obsolescence and maintain inventory accuracy
6. Provides information for and/or prepares departmental, production, and management reports, as needed
7. Assists and provides support for the Plant PC Manager regarding physical inventory activities
8. Provides technical and functional direction to departmental staff, and acts as a primary back up, and understudy to the Plant PC Manager
9. Performs other duties as assigned

Responsibilites

Requirements

1. Education & Experience: Meets one of the following requirements:
a. Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Manufacturing, or a related discipline, plus 4 to 6 years of production control experience; OR
b. Associate’s Degree in Business, Manufacturing, or a related discipline, plus 6 to 8 years of production control experience
(APICS Certification is preferred)
2. Production Control experience to include:
a. 2 years in a lead or supervisory role
b. Experience working in a JIT manufacturing environment utilizing Kanban
c. Continuous improvement or Kaizen experience                                  3. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a. Analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills (with attention to detail)
b. Organizational and planning skills
c. Leadership and coaching skills
d. Computer skills — proficiency using MS Office and MRPH Software
e. Written and verbal communications and presentation skills
f. Interpersonal skills — to confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority and maintain composure in pressure situations
