Our Opportunity 

North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to join our team. The ideal candidate will supervise and coordinate the activities and personnel of the Manufacturing Engineering department, which includes support for new launch development and day-to-day technical issues for the assembly process in the plant with a focus on scrap and downtime reduction. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Your Priorities 

• Assigns, supervises, and evaluates the work of the manufacturing engineers and manufacturing engineering technicians.
• Manages Assembly technician group, evaluates job performance, implements, and continually improves training programs.
• Supports Assembly Plant downtime and OEE improvement activities.
• Coaches and develops Manufacturing Engineers supporting daily production issues.
• Coordinates and/or participates in all continuous improvement activities within area of responsibility, and ensures participation of direct reports these activities, as needed.
• Assists in the management of the department, as well as in the development of annual departmental goals, headcount, and budgets.
• Supports and oversees department KPIs as established by management and makes recommendations concerning scrap and downtime reduction in order to help meet the KPI goals.
• Evaluates departmental training needs, schedules employees for training, and/or conducts the training of manufacturing engineers and manufacturing engineering technicians in accordance with their overall responsibilities within the department.
• Stays current with the latest manufacturing processes, techniques, and technologies.
• Assists in planning/coordination of line moves and consolidations of current production equipment.
• Provides leadership and guidance for Technician Supervisors on line improvement activity and technician focus.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Your Background 

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology, or a technical discipline, plus 6 - 8 years of experience in manufacturing environment to include: 

• 2 years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering 
• 2 years of experience in a lead, supervisory, or management position. 

Experience in an engineering function with an automotive lighting manufacturer is preferred. 

Salary Range: $100,000 - $120,000
