Job Summary

In conjunction with the Management Team, provides strategic leadership in the identification, development, implementation, and monitoring of activities that drive continuous improvement and
operations excellence.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Partners with management team to optimize the operation’s processes, and to ensure linkage to the company's financial goals.
2. Manages, coordinates, and implements continuous improvement projects to improve manufacturing effectiveness, quality, delivery, and cost relative to Production-to-Plan and the production system.
3. Collects, analyzes, and reports on data from all production-area continuous improvement activities.
4. Facilitates TQIT systems reporting.
5. Researches systems and processes, and identifies and develops analysis and recommendations to implement tools, processes, and infrastructures to achieve best practices and optimize efficiencies.
6. Participates in and/or leads various teams to integrate and/or reach consensus on processes.
7. Communicates with management, engineering, and other CI professionals to ensure that best practices are shared across the organization.
8. Acts in place of the General Foreman in his or her absence.
9. Conducts and/or assists with the training of manufacturing personnel in the areas of continuous improvement, Kanban, quality performance indicator systems, and the NAL production system.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

11. BS in engineering, manufacturing, or related discipline plus 5 years experience as a manufacturing supervisor; OR HS Diploma and 10 years of experience as manufacturing supervisor
12. Strong Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities in the following areas:
a. Knowledge of the organization structure and each department’s functional responsibilities
b. Knowledge of the NAL (Toyota) Production System Concepts
c. Analytical and problem solving skills
d. Technical and Business writing skills
e. Organizational and planning skills
f. Goal & Target Setting skills
g. Business software packages, including MS Office and NAL manufacturing database systems
h. Written and verbal communications and presentation skills
i. Leadership and Interpersonal skills — ability confidently interact with employees, customers, and vendors at all levels of authority
