Job Summary

Coordinates the auditing criteria methods used to investigate activities involving material monitoring of NAL products and supplier materials for compliance to engineering drawings and specifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Determines the type of monitoring and control systems necessary for maintaining on going quality
2. Enforces company policies and procedures for monitoring inspection and non-conforming materials
3. Monitors the work of the quality auditors’ to ensure that proper inspection and/or test methods are used during the audit process
4. Performs incoming and outgoing inspection as required to prevent flowout
5. Reports non-conforming materials affecting manufacturing process
6. Initiates investigations, containment activities, and problem analyses for suspected non-conforming products and materials identified during inspection process
7. Monitors quality data supplied with critical parts, and reports any and all abnormal results
8. Recommends improvements to the quality system and methods
9. Leads continuous improvement teams
10. Supports new launch activities
11. Maintains accurate quality records
12. Performs other duties as assigned

Responsibilites

Requirements

13. High School Diploma or GED (Associate’s Degree in a related field is preferred)
14. 2 to 4 years of related experience in manufacturing, including experience in reading blueprints and using basic measuring instruments (experience in automotive manufacturing is preferred)
15. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a. Knowledge and understanding of:
(i) Statistical Process Control (SPC)
(ii) Metrology and Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GDT)
(iii) Audit Inspection and Test Methods
(iv) Quality Audits and Planning
b. Technical mathematics skills
c. Mechanical skills
d. Leadership, communications, and interpersonal skills
e. Organizational and planning skills
f. Analytical and problem solving skills
g. Computer skills using standard business software (including MS Office programs)
h. (Knowledge of customer/supplier relationships is preferred)
i. (Optical comparator, photometric testing, and electrical skills are preferred)
