Job Summary

Coordinates, monitors, performs, and reports on the activities required to resolve warranty issues  from conception to completion, and assists in warranty claims investigations, root cause analyses, and implementation of countermeasures.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Verifies and analyzes NAL warranty claims via customer warranty systems, and coordinates the testing and analysis of defective products returned to NAL

2. Participates in cross–functional teams to investigate and address warranty claims issues

3. Reviews the reports on the investigation and analysis of warranty claims issues and proposed countermeasures prior to submitting them to management and/or the customer

4. Conducts regular meetings to report status of warranty claims with statistical analysis of failures, and with internal team members to track the timely implementation of required countermeasures

5. Develops and maintains relationship with customers to understand their warranty programs

6. Works with launch teams, product design, and production engineering to address trends and design issues, and to monitor the establishment of countermeasures that affect our products

7. Develops procedures for product analysis to ensure the integrity of QA lab test methods

8. Creates and maintains databases to manage customer warranty issues, track investigation findings, and estimate future warranty claims

9. Ensures compliance with NAL policies, Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS), and other required legislation and standards

10. Performs other duties as required 



12. Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a technical related field
13. Up to 2 years of experience in Warranty Engineering (Experience with an automotive parts manufacturer and/or an electronics background is preferred)
14. Strong knowledge, skills and abilities in the following areas:
a. Knowledge and understanding of test specifications and gages/tools
b. Analytical, statistical, and problem solving skills
c. Organizational and planning skills
d. Computer skills in MS Office programs, spreadsheet development, and report writing
e. Written and verbal communications and presentation skills
f. Interpersonal skills — confident interaction with individuals at all levels of authority
g. Ability to read and understand blue prints
