Job Summary

Evaluates warranty parts and analyzes data in support of Warranty Team objectives; and ensures that all Warranty return parts are identified, categorized, logged, and processed.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Warranty Part Check-In: Logs each Warranty Return into the NAL Warranty Return Database
2. Initial Warranty Part Evaluation: Evaluates, prioritizes, and packages each return; and identifies each return with an NAL tracking number
3. Storage of Warranty Returns: Transfers each warranty return to proper location based on initial evaluation
4. Part Analysis:
a. Assists in detailed part analysis, logs results into NAL Warranty Database
b. Assists other Warranty team members in root cause evaluation, as necessary
5. Trend Analysis: Tracks and identifies failure mode trends.
6. Data Analysis:
a. Compiles Warranty Summary Reports based on data in Customer Warranty Database System
b. Performs data evaluation and analysis for trends and spikes
7. Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned


1. Must meet one of the following Education and Experience requirements:
a. Associate’s Degree in Business or related discipline, plus 4 to 6 years of experience in quality or a related function; OR
b. High School Diploma or GED, plus 6 to 8 years of experience in quality or a related function (Experience in a quality function with a tier 1 automotive lighting supplier is preferred)
2. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
a. Knowledge and understanding of basic quality concepts
b. Computer skills — proficient using standard business software, including MS Office and
c. Report writing skills
d. Organizational and planning skills
e. Problem-solving, statistical, and analytical skills with attention to detail
f. Written and verbal communications skills
g. Interpersonal skills — ability to confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority, and maintain professional demeanor in stressful, confrontational, and/or sensitive situation
