Job Summary

Provides support and assistance to the Cost Control group with all daily, weekly, and monthly activities regarding NAL’s Foreign-Trade Zone and import/exportoperations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1.Coordinates and tracks all export shipments from initial request (within NAL) to final delivery

2.Facilitates communication between NAL personnel and all other involved parties regarding export shipments, and gathers any information needed to ensure timely delivery of shipments

3.Gathers and inputs data for response to customer requests, such as USMCA, AALA, CAFE, and other content-related inquiries

4.Reviews customs invoices from all NAL plants to ensure that all export shipments are being handled properly and that all paperwork is complete and accurate in order to minimize delays

5.Performs all daily FTZ admission duties, which includes verifying daily FTZ receipts and inputting data required to generate Customs Form 214 for each shipment

6.Maintains current and accurate NAFTA certificates from NAL’s suppliers ― this includes working with vendors to ensure that all documents are completed correctly and received on a timely basis

7.Assists with responses to all miscellaneous import/export issues, as required

8.Performs other duties as assigned



1. Must meet the following Education and Experience requirements:

Associate’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or a related discipline
(Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related discipline is preferred)
10.2 to 4 years of experience in an administrative or accounting position
(Experience in a manufacturing environment and/or foreign import experience are preferred)
11.Strong knowledge, abilities, and skills in the following areas:
a.Ability to develop a basic knowledge and understanding of US Customs Regulations, the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, and duty rates that apply to items imported, exported, and manufactured by NAL
(Ability to read blueprints and bills of material is preferred)
b.Data Entry skills — with attention to detail
c.Mathematical and analytical skills
d.Organizational and planning skills
e.Computer skills in standard business software — including MS Word, Excel, andAccess
f.Written and verbal communications skills
g.Interpersonal skills — to confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority
