Job Summary

Develops electrical designs, programs software, and assembles tooling for the NAL equipment build group.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Creates electrical and pneumatic designs using Autocad
  2. Creates electrical and pneumatic BOM’s
  3. Develops machine programming software
  4. Develops operator interface software
  5. Marks-up design prints to provide feedback to design about problems so that they can be updated
  6. Debugs tooling/machine for correct function
  7. Assembles machined details together per design
  8. Performs small machining to allow for design changes and/or problems
  9. Wires tooling and/or electrical panel per prints provided
  10. Teardowns equipment for shipment
  11. Sets up equipment at the specified plant after shipment
  12. Reviews and checks-off the Ship Requirement Sheet
  13. Keeps Equipment Tracking Sheet up to date with current status
  14. Provides assistance to engineers during equipment runoff
  15. Monitors inventory level of common parts and recommends ordering at correct time
  16. Maintains 6S within assigned areas
  17. Provides technical support for continuous improvement of production equipment and processes
  18. Performs other duties as assigned



  1. High School Diploma or GED (Associates’ Degree in a technical discipline is preferred)
  2. 5 or more years of technical work experience working on assembly equipment in a manufacturing environment, including previous experience in machine setup, PLC programming, touch screen programming, robotic programming, and CAD experience for electrical and pneumatic design
  3. Must have own tools to perform all required tasks
  4. Strong knowledge, skills, and abilities in the following areas:
  • Technical and mechanical skills
  • Problem solving and analytical skills
  • Advanced ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic blueprints
  • Ability to pass performance test with 70% or better
  • Organizational and planning skills
  • Communications and interpersonal skills
