Our Opportunity 

North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Senior Testing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will plan, develop, and perform design validation testing on automotive lighting products to determine if the lamps meet customer and regulatory agency requirements, which includes interpreting the results, reporting on findings, and recommending any needed engineering changes. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Your Priorities 

  • Develops test plans, procedures, and work instructions for the testing of the photometrics, electronic devices, materials, and/or coatings of automotive lighting products. 
  • Ensures the accuracy and consistency of the test data/results through thorough documentation. 
  • Provides theoretical calculations for physical experiment, and substantiates them with experimental data. 
  • Sets up and executes tests as required by the test plans and/or standards related to design verification and technology development of new products. 
  • Compiles and summarizes the test data, analyzes and interprets the test results, and writes reports that explain the findings and provide conclusions and recommendations. 
  • Provides theoretical explanations and recommends design changes based on results of prototype and production hardware tests. 

Salary Range: $95,000 - $120,000

Requirements

Your Background 

Bachelor's Degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline, plus 4 to 6 years of experience in engineering laboratory work and/or product development ― to include experience in lab set up, physical science testing (thermal, vibration, EMI, humidity, and gas flow), test design, and testing methodology. 

Experience in electronic device and plastics product testing in automotive lighting is preferred.
