Our Opportunity
North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Lead Electronics Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide engineering, design, and development support for new product launches and development projects pertaining to electronics in exterior automotive lighting products. They will serve as the in-house technical expert, and a mentor for other engineers within the department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Your Priorities
- Serves in the technical lead role in Electronics Development for the design of power electronics related to design of high-power LED controls.
- Ensures designs pass EMC/EMI requirements, while meeting lamp and OEM requirements.
- Performs Worst Case Circuit Analysis (WCA) as required by OEM’s.
- Conducts tests and other evaluations for prototype and pre-prototype hardware.
- Recommends design changes based upon results of prototype and pre-prototype testing.
- Mentors junior electronics engineers to raise skill level of the department, and provides technical expertise to the organization on electronics-related technologies, processes, and developments.
Requirements
Your Background
Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related discipline, plus 6 - 8 years of experience in electronics development in Analog and Power Electronics—including experience as senior or lead engineer in Analog and Power Electronics.
Master’s Degree, and experience in electronics development within automotive parts manufacturing is preferred.
