Job Summary

Plans and schedules jobs through the production area in the Tool Shop.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

1. Establishes production schedules for each job and/or each machine and coordinates those schedules in order to develop a master production schedule.
2. Oversees the amount of time a job is on a machine in order to maintain the master schedule.
3. Works with PC Supervisor to prioritize work.
4. Monitors status of purchase parts and communicates any changes to purchasing department.
5. Schedules engineering changes and tool repairs.
6. Promotes the efficient utilization of equipment, facilities, personnel, and raw materials.
7. Prepares and maintains efficiency reports.
8. Recommends process and procedural changes to improve efficiency and overall plant profitability.
9. Works with the Plant AGM to develop goals, standards, and work schedules for the production area.
10. Provides information for and/or prepares production and management reports.
11. Works under general supervision and performs tasks that are varied and somewhat complex in nature.
12. Performs all other duties as assigned.



1. Must meet one of the following Education and Experience requirements:
a. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Management, or a related discipline plus 0 to 2 years of injection mold building experience
b. Associate’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Management, or a related discipline plus 2 to 4 years of injection mold building experience
c. High School or GED plus 4 to 6 years of injection mold building experience
2. Strong skills and abilities in the following areas:
a. Working knowledge of plastic injection molds
b. Ability to read and understand blueprints, tool drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs)
c. Organizational and planning skills
d. Ability to interpret and follow specifications
e. Technical and mechanical skills
f. Problem-solving, statistical, and analytical skills with attention to detail
g. Computer skills – proficiency using standard software (including Word, Excel, and Access)
h. Written and verbal communication skills
i. Interpersonal skills – ability to work in a team environment, and confidently interact with individuals at all levels of authority
