Our Opportunity 

North American Lighting (NAL) is looking for a Manual Machinist - III to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform manual machining of molds and parts using mills, drills, grinders, and lathes ― including hand fitting of cavities, cores, and components; and polishing of tools. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Your Priorities 

  • Performs conventional machining, including the following: 
    • Lathe work – turning, drilling, threading 
    • Tool Sharpening 
    • Mill work 
    • Surface grinding 
    • Welding  
    • Drilling 
    • Tapping/Threading 
    • Polishing 
  • Performs his/her own setups. 
  • Works with Mold Makers to understand which tools and parts are to be machined, and in what order they are scheduled. 
  • Works with Mold Makers to ensure the proper steps are followed. 
  • Inspects workpieces, including mic’s, calipers, and height gauges. 

Requirements

Your Background 

  • Associates Degree in a technical discipline, plus 5 to 8 years of machining experience OR
  • High School Diploma or GED, plus 8 to 10 years of machining experience. 

 

Machining experience within a plastic injection mold making facility is preferred.
